If TN owning them is by beating them by 6 points....what exactly was our loss considered?

I am just stating the facts of who we have beat and how we did it. We beat two non-bowl invited teams....one by a little and one we killed. Neither make me believe that we would just beat a team ranked in the Top 10 "easily" after tearing us apart earlier this year. That sounds like what we were complaining about last year with the UGA fans and the 1st game.

But it doesn't mean Auburn dominated LSU. It took a bad call to give them the win.

I agree with this. Of course, we'll never know now, but LSU is playing as well as anyone to end the regular season. That's all we have to go by. Of course, it all comes back to Randall. If he plays like he did against Ark., I am very confident. The D has improved considerably over the last few weeks, for the most part. :thumb:

I think that had Marcus Randall been left in the game, we'd have beaten them, and we honestly had the chance to do that had we hit an extra point and had they not been "given" that gift of a call at the end.

99 times out of 100 (outside of LSU's team) the extra point is automatic. In this game, there were two missed, and had the ball gone LSU's way in both (mere conjecture here, I'm aware), then we beat a team not in the Top 10, but we beat a team in the Top 3, and a team some are complaining about possibly not getting a shot at a national title. This was the 1 out of 100 game, and we lost it.

Yeah, Troy had LSU for awhile there, but it was not because they dominated LSU or played well against us or anything like that. We gave them the opportunity, and it's hard NOT to score when you're given the ball twice inside the red zone, no matter WHAT team you are.

I also seem to remember Ole Miss hanging tough with both Tennessee and Auburn before bowing out late, just like they did against us. I also seem to remember a bullsh!t call giving them a late FG to end the 1st half. Special teams gaffes and other BS calls helped them out as well.

We could go on and on about this, but the bottom line is that a W is a W...

I remember Gerry DiNardo said it best back in 1996 after we opened the season with a 35-34 come from behind 4th quarter victory against the Cougars of LSU...

"In December, no one will care that LSU won 35-34 tonight. All they'll care about is that we won."

The game was not as close as the scores indicated. It was apparent to me that we'd beat Troy, and I honestly never doubted it. Same with Ole Miss. Sure, I groaned at some of the playcalling, but I never lost the faith, nor the fact that LSU was a superior team in every phase of the game against those teams.

I'd also like to hear you talk about LSU's 4th quarter victory over then 12th ranked Florida, who recently validated their season-and quite possibly their coach, albeit too late-with a victory over the "vaunted" Criminoles of Florida State with Booby Bowden.

We played each and every team tough on our entire schedule and never stopped competing in any contest save for Georgia...and you can't deny that. You also can't say that LSU didn't hand Ole Miss & Troy chances to compete in both those contests.

You may call yourself an objective observer, but in this case, the Spade is simply not a spade...Objectivity - in this case - looks much like the Purple & Gold Oakley set wears around here...

LSU is a legitimate 9-2, and they are a tough football team, with two losses two Top 10 teams, one by a mere point. We beat the 12th ranked Gators, as well as a tough Alabama team. We did disappoint on the grandest of stages, but we're not as bad as you make us out to be.

I did say that you made us out to be bad. You really do. I'm wondering why you're so fickle on us.

Anyone who saw the KY game could see TN's problem is their defense and not their QB play.

Exactly, UT's problem is their defense. Good running teams are consistently putting up big numbers against UT.

For all the discussion about how good a coach he is, Richt still didn't commit to the run against UT. After Lumpkin went down, he seemed to feel he had to make it up with the passing game. Took him a few games to figure out what Ware could really do.

UGA and LSU are neck and neck, just like the records indicate. Both teams played some awful games against less than stellar talent and both teams had their good and great games. UGA's great game came against LSU. I'd rank us 2 and 2A with them winning the tiebreaker on head to head.

I guess UGA is better, because they are ranked higher

For Randall, I am not sure which game you are talking about. By the next sentence I am taking you mean the UGA game in which we lost by nearly 30. I don't think two extra points had much to do with anything. I am sure people will say momentum (that would be my guess) but either way our secondary and DL got burned that game.

If you mean the extra point with the Auburn game.....ugh, I know

And I agree about Troy AND Ole Miss....we let them back in.....we helped them keep the game close....that was OUR fault.....which I think backs up what my point was....we are not playing this GREAT football that many want to think. At least not to the level where we can proclaim that we could beat a team in the Top 10 by 10 points easily.

As for the UF game, what a comeback! I loved it. Wish we could have played the entire season like the 2nd half.

I got from reading over your writing that I am calling LSU a bad team (maybe it was just me) and I am not sure where I said that. I simply don't see how we can say we would just beat a Top 10 so easily. We wouldn't, IMO. I am as much an LSU fan as everyone else her

Saban at LSU is 40-0 when scoring at least 25 points. Who else can say that?
