Well, it's on to the loser's bracket. Elimination game tomorrow at 10 am. Of course, this is nothing new for a Smoke Laval team.

LSU has now lost 4 in a row at the SEC tourney going all the way back to the 2003 season. Now I have to miss another SEC Tourney game because we are playing so damn early tomorrow. We win today I would at least get to go tomorrow.

If SC beats Tennessee this evening, you needn't even bother, Batgirl.

What does being in the dug out have to do with witnessing a team's facial expressions? What does it have to do with seeing a team on the field, confused? Honestly, a lot of times these guys just look dazed and confused out there. Who's the poster-boy for this? Why, it's none other than Derek Hebert! Seriously though, I don't have anything against him, but I much rather Hollander in the field. I don't like people using the "we need him in the batting line up," because NO ONE is hitting anymore. Hate to say it, but man, I don't think we can get past a regional with our sporadic team. I HOPE I'm wrong, but it just doesn't look too good.

Also, I'm not saying that they AREN'T playing with emotion. I will tell you this though, LSU's "emotion" sure looked a lot different than State's "emotion." :hihi:

wow jayb....way to jump the gun. Not hitting anymore? we had a horrible game. Mestey pitched horribly once again and its hard to have any "emotion" when you're down 4-0 in the 2nd inning....and then eventually 9-0 (not in the same inning)....lets look back to last friday....

7 runs on 11 hits...that looks like hitting to me pal
saturday and sunday we only scored 3 runs, but ya can't score 10 runs every game and ya can't win 'em all......

oh and by the way...i'm waiting on the response that it's SMOKES FAULT!...b/c lane pitched another bad game and we didn't jump on the bats....its not smokes fault b/c he put the guys in position to win. The team just didn't execute. BIG DEAL...its only a game...like i said....can't win 'em all.....glad yall can do better than coach laval, also
(this part as to any of the laval-haters)

One thing I DO know....when you need to at least make a good showing at, if not outright WIN the SEC tournament to ensure a top 8 seed and a Super Regional host site, you DON'T start Lane Mestepey, who has struggled all year, in the first round. That is NOT putting your team in the best possible position to win. Now, w/ Tennessee holding Hochevar out until tomorrow, if SC beats them tonight (a good chance of tha happening), we face the very real possibility of another two-and-out performance...and with that we can kiss the top 8 seeding goodbye. IMHO, this whole thing was poorly handled.

Agreed, but you can't start our best pitcher on 2 days' rest. The rotation should have been set for the SEC tournament against MSU with G. Smith pitching on Friday.

Or, he could have completely thrown them for a loop and started Determann...it's not like Jason hasn't been called on in that role before. If we can somehow get through the loser's bracket, he may be called on to fill a starting spot anyway.

I agree w/ your premise, though. Lane actually should have been removed from the weekend rotation some time ago.
