Didn't see this posted anywhere, but I was listening to Songy on the way home today and he said that if you:

Add up the wins and losses of the top 25 SEC West teams (LSU, Arky, Bama, MSU, and Auburn) and don't' count the times they played each other, then their combined 2010 schedule comes out to:

    49-1

Seriously? Is that right? He said the only loss would be Bama losing to South Carolina. :miles:

Geez if that's true this has got to be the BEST SEC West in history...

and people think this was a down year for the SEC just because Florida (said in a whiney voice) wasn't at the top.

Add in the times we beat each other, and Ole Miss's record and it is still pretty good.

Okay, I have a long commute home on public transportation from DC to the VA suburbs, and I had plenty of time to crunch the numbers:

SEC West overall record (not including head-to-head in Division): 38-4
SEC West record vs SEC East: 15-3

LSU: 7-0, including 3-0 vs SEC East
Aub: 7-0, including 3-0 vs SEC East
Ark: 7-0, including 3-0 vs SEC East
Miss St: 7-0, including 3-0 vs SEC East
Ala: 6-1, including 2-1 vs SEC East
Ole Miss: 4-3, including 1-2 vs SEC East

    Pretty darn good!

Yeah and to think that the QB comparisons in the West this year is a testament to the coaching as well:

Alabama - Senior NC winning QB
Arkansas - Broke all ARK QB records
Auburn - Heisman winner in 2010?
Ole Miss - Had a Heisman worthy season in 2009

Only MSU and us had a weak QB to say that coaching and defense made a big difference this year.

My original post should be 39-1, not 49-1.

That means that Jacksonville State is the only Non-SEC team to beat a SEC West team this year.

SEC West victims included North Carolina, West Virginia, Clemson, Penn State, and Texas A&M.

    WOW.

Now let's talk about OOC games:

#1 Auburn beat Clemson and went 4-0.

#7 LSU beat UNC and West Virginia. Both were ranked at the time. Went 4-0 OOC.

#16 Alabama beat Penn State who was ranked #18 at the time. Went 4-0 OOC.

#10 Arkansas beat Texas A&M who's currently ranked #18 in the BCS. Went 4-0 OOC.

#22 Miss St beat Houston. Went 4-0 OOC.

Ole Miss was the Lone Ranger. They lost to Jacksonville St.

    In total, that's 23-1 OOC.

Also, the West went 3-0 vs Florida.

    Pretty damn strong.

AND I guess it will be 40-1 after today's game.
