that is just my rumor... but check it out: did anyone else notice this detail in the article by The Oregonian today: http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/sports/1075726826115370.xml[/URL] so on a hunch I checked out Syracuse's 2004 schedule. They only have 10 games right now and all of the dates are not set due to the reallignment of the Big East, but Sep 11 is available as it stands now. Syracuse has also stated that they would be interested in playing LSU (although not necessarily on the road). Syracuse 2004 schedule SI article on Syracuse schedule the hottest rumors for the Sep 4 opening always was Oregon St and Syracuse. Now could we get both?? Of course Houston is scheduled for Sep 11, but we should be able to negotiate with them fairly well. Plus, playing Troy St, Vanderbilt and Houston in the year after a NC doesn't do so much for your SOS and all of our critics. Now if we could only move Flordia or Georgia until later in the year...
That would be great!....Playing Oregon St. and Syracuse for our non-conference schedule would help our SOS tremendously! When is this supposed to be decided?
i dont think you need to worry about sos so much. i'm more worried about playing a freshman qb and the favorable 2003 schedule becoming a bitch in 2004. we have some nasty road games. i actually would prefer to play a cupcake for the first game. i guess maybe osu or syracuse may fall in that category, at least relative to the other teams on the schedule.
Syracuse is just my own rumor it's a real possibility, but I haven't seen anything but the Oregon article saying that we were trying to rework our schedule on Sep 11.
houston isn't a horrible team eithier...definitely top 50 or 60...i don't see them hurting our schedule
Houston is a pretty bad team. Just because they are average in CUSA doesn't make me excited. I'll admit that they are making improvement, but they are subpar talent and competition. 2001 0-11 2002 5-7 2003 7-5 2003 Sagarin ratings had them at #88 behind several top I-AA teams (including W. Illinois).
We didn't play to well against Houston, was it in 2002? Also, one of the Tiger Rag people spoke with the reporter and she said that LSU was looking to change the Houston game also but now that is over and the schedule is expected to remain the same.
are you saying some one from Tiger Rag spoke to the Oregon reporter? I knew we had some close calls against Houston so I looked up the records... the last time we played was 2000. 2000 LSU 28 UH 13 1999 UH 20 LSU 7 and I definitely remember 1996 LSU 35 UH 34 (I think we scored 28 in the 4th qtr) that was then (DiNardo 95-99), this is now!!!
