1. Pay better attention. What I said was that Nick did not leave some kind of "foundation" that allows "any coach to come in and win." It has never worked that way.

  2. I'm pretty sure the state of the program is the "foundation" he was talking about.

So are you thinking that Cameron is the answer to Les' problems at QB and that Harris/Jennings will be much improved next year? I'm hoping for that. Im not sure another year of stagnant offense is good for Miles seat temperature (though there is no indication the administration agrees with the negas that his seat is heating up). What if our passing game stinks again next year?
  3. I'm thinking that Harris has a better arm than Jennings, but has issues with maturity, work ethic, and reading defenses. To quote Mike Detillier . . .

"A quarterback has to know what the hell he is doing on every play and also be able to get people in the right spot when needed. Harris is struggling with the mental part of jumping from high school to college. And also he was a "spread option" guy and they call plays that have him more like a drop-back guy. He's also a bit of a risk taker and that does not sit well with the coaching staff.

Harris has flashed it at times and also looked bad at times. It is part of maturing as a player, but I see his problems being one of not grasping the total package mentally. But there is no doubt he is immensely talented.

It has been rough time, for the most part, as a true freshman for Harris, but he is very gifted as a passer. He just has to calm down and not try to do too much. It is the nature of a quarterback to try to win games by himself, and at this level, early on, it doesn't work that way. But, in time, Harris is going to be a game-changer at quarterback for LSU."

I think Cameron doesn't have much to work with at QB this year, which is why they have dumbed down the passing game. Next year is another matter. Harris knows that his talent isn't keeping him from starting, but rather his own dedication to mastering the position mentally. He is no longer a man among boys like in high school. If he can get over that hurdle, which will take a lot of video study and learning how to make checkdowns and reading defenses, he will become the quarterback that Les recruited him to be. It's really up to Harris to step up his game and take the job away from Jennings. That is the way it has always worked in football.
  4. I'm sure the fanbases of Miami, Florida, Nebraska, Michigan, USC and Texas would like to discuss your theories on the ease of winning after a "foundation" has been laid.

  5. Miami won championships with Butch Davis's recruits. Larry Cocker had no business coaching there. The facilities a dreadful at Miami. Florida is having trouble because they have a Defensive coordinator as their HC. Muschamp has no control of that team. USC was under sanctions after Pete Carrol left. I give it another 3 or 4 years before they are national contention again.
  6. I think I get what you're saying. Any coach can win when he comes into a good situation. Unless that coach is a bad coach - then that coach will lose. It needs to be a good coach.

  7. Not exactly. I don't really know what fuck I'm talking about. I just come here to vent my frustrations.
