Out of the teams who LSU has losing records too, which out of conference team would you like to see LSU schedule in the future? I went ahead and said Alabama-Birmingham, it's rather embarassing to know we lost to such a low team. I say we revenge that loss ASAP. Close 2nd would be Florida St and Nebraska. Good story lines. Old OC (FSU) and DC (NU)
I voted Ga. Tech. We used to play them back WHEN I WAS A KID... Used to walk 5 miles to school, one way, in the snow back then...
PAC 10 USC -- The last team from the Pac-10 to beat us. Also the team we split the title with in 2003 and arguably the Team of the Decade. Nothing would be greater than beating them down before the 2000's is over. Under Carroll, USC is 4-0 vs. the SEC (beat Arkansas 50-14 in 2006 and 70-17 in 2005; beat Auburn 23-0 in 2003 and 24-17 in 2002). The last time LSU played USC was in 1984 in Los Angeles. Unranked LSU beat #15 USC 23-3. The other time the teams met was in 1979, when #1 USC came to Tiger Stadium and barely pulled off the victory over #20 LSU, 17-12. BIG 12 Texas -- The last team from the Big 12 to beat us. That 20-35 beating they put on us in the 1/1/2003 Cotton Bowl was humiliating. The last time LSU beat Texas was 44 years ago. Nebraska -- LSU has never beaten Nebraska. They are the only team to ever beat us in a bowl-season game in the Louisiana Superdome, and they did it twice, in the 1/1/1987 Sugar Bowl and the 1/1/1985 Sugar Bowl. Before that, they beat us in the 1/1/1983 Orange Bowl and the 1/1/1971 Orange Bowl. They also beat us in Lincoln, NE in 1975 and tied us at Tiger Stadium in 1976. Texas A&M -- Played LSU every season from 1960 to 1975, and every season from 1986 to 1995. Texas A&M has won the last five games against LSU. BIG TEN Iowa -- The last team from the Big Ten to beat us -- on 1/1/2005 in Orlando, FL (Capital One Bowl). It was the only time LSU has ever played Iowa. Michigan -- The program with the best winning percentage in history. LSU and Michigan have never played each other. Although they haven't disrespected us on the football field, they still looked down us like we were some sort of minor league farm team that they could come to get a new head coach for their program. Penn State -- We have only played them once, in the 1/1/1974 Orange Bowl. They won 16-9. That was back when Paterno was like 48 years old (now he is like 81 years old). ACC Florida State -- 2-0 vs. LSU in the 90's, 4-1 vs LSU in the 80's (in 1982, #12 LSU beat #7 FSU, 55-21). The only time we played FSU in a bowl game, they beat us (1968 Peach Bowl). OTHER Alabama-Birmingham -- I blame that loss on Saban, not LSU. Besides, scheduling them would only hurt our strength of schedule.
I went with Texas, but it would also be great to have another crack at Nebraska. I feel one OOC team should be competitive.
I went for Texas as well. I am deep in the heart of Big 12 country, so a win over the Longhorns would be sweet. :crystal:
i voted for nebraska since we've never beaten them. I was at the 85 sugar bowl where they crushed us 30-15. i think it was 85, maybe 86 or 87 or 88, you get my point. but, i'd LOVE a home and home with Texas! Austin is closer than Nebraska. would be a great atmosphere. I went to a softball game in Austin and noticed that their fans are just as fanatical about the longhorns as we are about the Tigers. Cat Osterman walked right past me. While she's good looking, she's no Emily Turner!
