You're are right, they are a self-serving lot and money is THE issue. But the THEY you are talking about is THE members schools that make up the NCAA, so of course the Presidents and ADs will be self-serving, the have boards of supervisors to answer to.
One interesting thing not mentioned........why did the Memphis newspaper wait until the day before Lang's sentencing to bring their "new" info into the open press? Coincidence? Hmmmmmmmm.
tooting my own horn, this was the reference to Lang trying to savis his ass prior to sentencing by making these statements in hopes the court would be lenient.
Do you really know what the irony of all this is? Where is Albert Means now? Is he a sure-fire NFL prospect? Was he or his on-field production really worth all the trouble he caused? Is any player? THAT'S what's ironic about this whole mess. The whole thing is Lester Earl, on a grander scale.
