I don't think there will ever be a greater Tiger than Pete Maravich, but will there ever be a more loveable Tiger than Shaq? Shaq is awesome... Lady Tigers not tipping their hand Visit from Shaq breaks up routine Friday, April 01, 2005 By William Kalec INDIANAPOLIS -- Elbow resting on the table and an open palm to support her head, LSU freshman center Sylvia Fowles sits comfortably in nonchalance. Unaware or perhaps just ignoring the surrounding party in this cramped ballroom, she has unpacked her Sunday face -- wearing an expressionless glare fit for late-night cable poker. Business is the objective of this trip up north. That's what the seniors say. That's what the freshmen repeat. It's witnessed on Fowles' almost-bored face and evidenced in her curt explanations. The shine is off the spectacle, the LSU Lady Tigers want us to believe. Police escorts and their whooping sirens are nothing new. The marshmallow-white top of the RCA Dome -- site of this year's women's Final Four -- that greeted LSU as its team bus rolled off the interstate exit is just the roof to another arena. And these purple-and-gold balloons covering the walls are nice and appreciated, but there's work to do. "I'm a'ight," said Fowles, who sounds like she lost her voice somewhere between Chattanooga, Baton Rouge and this luxury hotel in downtown Indianapolis. "It's cool. No big deal, you know." Then, Shaquille O'Neal walks through the door, drawing a collective gasp as he flashes his Madison Avenue smile that has sold everything from hamburgers to Icy-Hot sleeves. Applause follows. And after playing it cool for nearly 10 minutes, Fowles -- still a teenager, remember -- immediately shows her hand, acting as fanatical as anyone. Full Article
Shaq is like Charles Barkley without the assinine comments: Entertaining to watch and even more entertaining to listen to in an interview. Only problem with Barkley is that he spouts off about stuff he knows nothing about. Shaq is just damn funny. And a hell of a player. Kobe was a freakin' idiot to demand that he be traded. Classy thing that Shaq did.
i like hearing barkley although he does speak unwittingly on many things though it often makes it funnier. shaq may have had a hand in wanting to leave LA but it doesnt matter now. everyone will see kobe as possibly the most selfish athlete in history and shaq will forever be the big generous teddy bear....with likely more titles to follow.
Barkley is funny and I enjoy hearing him comment on things, but he will make some off the wall comments on stuff and embarass the state and Auburn. He was a hell of a player, but a jerk at times. Shaq is just Shaq, going all out, abusing people and then laughing it up and having a good time afterward. I agree with your comments on Kobe. He has seen his last title until his changes his attitude.
Since his LSU days Shaq has always been my favorite player. And I love how he always comes to LSU at least once a year to show his support. Not to mention I think he's the most dominant big man of all time.
glad to see Shaq continuing his support for his alma mater. Love the guy's attitude too. He's always laughing and smiling (when not cursing out t.v. guys about refs) lol also in news, former LSU running back Kevin Faulk visited with the team prior to the team's loading of the bus to head to Indy. great support from the older Tigers  LSU!
