hey, i like both of those too. i also love a whole bottle of pepper! basically i eat em so often i have to mix it up.
Find out where the gulls are diving and you will hit the specs faster than you can get em off the hook and your line back in the water.
It has to be the bigger gulls, and it ain't always specs. We catch stinkin' gafftops a lot of times under birds...and also bull reds will be under them. The little skimmers don't have fish under them...but if you see birds actually dive-bombing the water, fish it. Shane's right, you can literally catch them on a bare hook when they're in that frenzy.
