The housing issue was a minor mistake. Doing what he was told not to do concerning the NCAA Lyles investigation is a major mistake. Shepard needs to get his head on straight.
Six games seems excessive for the "crime" -- other than suspending someone for the season if the infraction is egregious enough (I assume), is six games what comes next? :geauxtige
6 games is the standard for talking about an investigation after being questioned. I heard he talked to his cousin Loston before he was to be questioned. THe NCAA has been questioning big recruits from around the Houston area. Not just LSU recruits. LSU appealed and looks like we got it cut to half like I suspected. I heard we requested it be reduced to 2 games.
Staff report Sporting News LSU junior wide receiver Russell Shepard has been suspended for two additional games and will be eligible to return on Sept. 24 against West Virginia, according to a report from TigerSportsDigest.com. Shepard initially was ruled out for last Saturday’s game against Oregon due to an NCAA compliance issue. LSU said at the time of the suspension that Shepard could miss multiple games. The school appealed the ban to the association.
Got confirmation today that it wasn't appealed one time but twice. Went from 6 games to 4 and finally to 3.
I've never heard of a situation in which there were not 1 but 2 appeals heard and that the decision was changed not once but twice. Seems a little far fetched.
That was not a standard situation. Loop holes and a complete mess. His dad admitted to shopping around without Cam's knowledge.
