Trev Alberts made a good comment today... he said that the state of sportsmanship in sports today is the lowest its ever been. People need to be held accountable for their behavior ie lose scholarships, extensive suspensions or even loss of scholarships.

no. its great for everybody to have a good time at their private parties.

BUT...the most annoying thing in the world is a drunk person.

even the worst beer induced mayhem, like last night, nobody really even gets hurt. take away beer from sporting events and we might as well burn the bill of rights, straightjacket ourselves, build a time machine, go back 60 years and lock ourselves up in a nazi death camp.

Drunks should not be allowed at sporting events. Troublemakers of all kinds, including drunks should be shown the door. Stumbling drunks, too. We never have any fights or hooliganism from drunks in my long-time-ticket-holder section of Tiger Stadium. But at the Ole Miss game, a drunk young lady trying to talk on a cell phone and walk down the steps fell down hard twice on the way. The guards walked her out of there for her own safety.

I say police the drunks. Forbid overt alcohol consumption to discourage a party atmosphere in the stands. But . . . folks that discretely add a little nip to their cola (never to excess) and who don't start fights or become stumbling dangers to themselves and others should not be harrassed by security or frisked at the gates.

From my observations, I think this is essentially the unofficial policy at LSU. Focus on the trouble and respect paying ticket-holders.

I voted NO. The way sportsmanship has gone deep down the last few years and this would just complicate the problem times 10.

I would love to see just the "drunks" and so forth be monitored but I don't see us being able to seperate the drunks from the others enough to make it work. Granted, it doesn't take an idiot to see someone falling down or unable to speak but others can play it off quite well.

I say no. Mainly because I don't drink, so it has no effect on me anyway. Secondly, because I don't like the smell of it and if someone were to throw a cup of it at the game and it got on me, I would hate to have to beat the crap out of a disoriented person.

Over the years, it has also become apparent to me that the majority of drunk people are incapable of operating in a civilized fashion.
