Saban is our rival. He's been stealing recruits since he left. We've had some pretty important games against him and are usually the only hurdle between him and Atlanta.

Now he's pushing coaches away from us and having recruits string us along in recruiting knowing full well its not happening.

Yep Saban loves him some Louisiana.

1st bold - we will have to agree to disagree; I think with $aban going there it has made it more of a rival game

    2nd bold - Couldn't agree more

I don't see him as a rival I see him as an enemy. There has to be some level of respect between rivals. I have zero respect for him. I hope he gets mouth herpes and has an aneurism on the sideline.

I disagree. I view Notre Dame and ucla as USC's biggest rivals. I have some respect for the ND rivalry and their fans (minus BitterND) but I have zero respect for ucla...absolutely none. I despise everything about them. And as a taxpayer, I really hate that taxpayers pay for their HC's salary, just like we do for kal.

The UF vs LSU game is pretty high up there relative to other sec vs sec games.

So you see them as a rival. I guess it's an individual thing.

Because its usually a game that has a high impact on the conference standings, not because of some deep-seeded hatred between the two schools. You get people on sites like this who will actually say they would be happy with a 1-10 season if the one win was over Ole Miss, or Bama. No LSU fan says that about Florida.

Saban recognizes that left unchecked, LSU is the only program that can challenge him in the SEC West.

Just saying, LSU v FU has happened 62 times. LSU v AU has happened 51 times. It's a game that has been played more than most. I don't disagree as far as the emotion not being there...

Even with fewer games, Tiger fans tend to be more passionate against Auburn than Florida. But I don't consider Auburn a major LSU rival either. They are, however, a divisional foe, and that tends to make the games more important. LSU's rivals are Ole Miss and, Terry's opinion notwithstanding, Alabama.
