Im sure it does to someone. I just wish everyone would quit posting that pic. It has Thanksgiving dinner trying to get back out.
I'm going to say no, at least not for another season, give Stud, Miles and Kragthorpe Mettenberger's senior season, good offensive line, great backs, I think the improvent over the last 3 games has bought them at least 1 more season if it continues over the Arkansas and bowl game.
Tedford may be a fine coach but an outstanding college QB can sometimes make a coach look like a desirable hire when he isn't. See Brett Favre.
I say, YES!!!!!! Get rid of Billy Gonzalez as I have just not been impressed with the performance of the wide receivers since he's come to LSU; let Stud go back to coaching the offensive line; and let Krag focus on the passing game with the QB's and WR's. As for the offensive coordinator, I know I will get flamed by many of you, but the person who I want to see as LSU's OC - Houston Nutt He has had successfull experience against SEC defenses, he knows how to develop a QB at the college level, and Les and he could probably work really well together.
Houston the Nutt, hell no! Billy Gonzales, like mentioned left last year. Id like to see someone with more imagination come in and keep the pro style balanced approach, but be less obvious and predictable. Also someone better at creating mismatches and attacking the weakness of the defense the team is facing. JMO.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Tedford Tedford was twice named Pac-10 Coach of the Year, and holds Cal records for most wins, games coached, and bowl game victories.... Tedford coached at the University of California for eleven seasons. In 2007, Cal finished the year ranked #2 in the country, behind only LSU. I'm not a Cal fan, but before Cal,.. Jeff Tedford was an excellant Duck.
Tedford coached each of the following first round NFL draft picks at the quarterback position: Fresno State Trent Dilfer 6th overall 1994, Tampa Bay Buccaneers David Carr 1st overall 2002, Houston Texans Oregon Akili Smith 3rd overall 1999, Cincinnati Bengals Joey Harrington 3rd overall 2002, Detroit Lions California Kyle Boller 19th overall 2003, Baltimore Ravens Aaron Rodgers 24th overall 2005, Green Bay Packers Tedford also coached Billy Volek, a backup quarterback for the San Diego Chargers, and A.J. Feeley, a backup quarterback for the St. Louis Rams. Just because some of them fizzled in the pros does NOT mean they were not VERY GOOD NCAA quarterbacks. Tedford as LSU's OC is a pipe dream. Wait until the firing season is really in full swing...there will probably be some good OC's available. If the Razorbacks announce a new HC soon, Paul Petrino may not be their OC on next year's staff...just sayin'.
Be careful what you ask for. I would not want a spread or pass happy OC at LSU. The basics of what we have shown the last 3 games is very nice. We thrive with a strong run first offense with a pass game to provide balance and ability to have a quick strike when needed. As twisted Tiger said someone who is "creating mismatches and attacking the weakness of the defense the team is facing" is what we want. I say let's see if stud Krag and LEM can provide that with the offense they have crafted this year.
