What we need is backup OC or head coach!

Everytime a QB doesn't throw for 400 yards, 6 TD's and wins the game someone always complains that we should have "put the back up in". Think about it, had LSU won the game would ANYONE be complaining about JMarc's performance? No, because you'd all be to busy kissing his ass for giving us a last minute TD for the win. Sometimes the coin doesn't fall our way, get used to it and stop wanting to pull people that played their heart out and was one of our only real sparks on the O for the Auburn game.

To put him in for a whole series or more??? No!
However, to mix it up and put him in occassionally might not be a bad idea. Knowing his scrambling ability would've maybe kept Auburn's LB's honest instead of dropping back into coverage.
I'm not saying Flynn should've been put in at the end of the game because JR was moving the ball all night. However, Flynn wouldn't have been dumb enough to scramble on the last drive.
I'm not one that likes to swap QB's for entire series, I say stick to your QB, especially when he is moving the ball. But to put in a QB that gives another dimension at QB would have been interesting, mixing it in through out the game.
Overall, I say no, but maybe a sprinkle of Flynn every now and then would've created some things. But you can't sit JR down when he is making passes, even though he floated quite a few that night, he still was on the money and had 350+ yards I think.

If you continue doing the same thing, expect the same results. If you are satisfied with the status quo then by all means don't try anything different. There is some reason that we only scored three more points than Mississippi State. I guess it is ok with most fans.

Look, after the half, coming back from the locker room, we were leading and we had scored the only points of the game.

To totally kill whatever confidence they had, they could have subbed Russell, but for what reason? When a QB has NO running game, it's hard to set up the pass. I like Flynn, but I don't think his arm could have beaten Auburn any more than Russell's couldn't have.

The real question is: should the young running backs have played? At least with trying faster backs, and changing the running pace, you can at least see for a few plays, without killing momentum (like subbing a QB), what you can work with. I wish they would have run Scott and Williams. They couldn't have done much worse.

i agree, they should have put the younger, faster backs in, seems like whenever JV or AB got the ball they had a auburn defender on them in the backfield. what we needed is a RB that woulda just ran full speed through the hole and pushed the pile or maybe even busted through. AB i don't htink looks 100% to me, and he kept running east-west (maybe to avoid contact?) instead of just pounding the ball and at least getting some yards, he got tackled a lot in the backfield...

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. If you read what i said in the first post I think Jamarcuss played a good game and credit him. Im not bashing him in any way by saying this. Like the other guy said Dj Shokley came in every once in a while for David Greene, i dont think anyone thought he was the starter back then. Tim Tebow with Florida. It adds another dimension to the game and the RB's werent getting it done so another runner out there could have worked. I by no means think matt flynn should be the starting QB, but understand what im asking.
Nobody here is talking about a 2 QB system i think everyone agrees that doesn't work, but a couple of plays or a drive to mix things up is worth a discussion atleast. Were not sitting here playing monday morning Qb i just want to know what your opinion on this was.

I think LSU had a very good game plan. The running game was not awesome but it did keep auburn honest. on some play fakes aub. was froze at the line. coaches and Russell did enough to win the game. I still blame "home cooking" JR is a good QB. He will only get better. JR did not lose this game! LSU lost.
(zebras played a role) so to answer your Question, If LSU was up 40 to 3....Hell yeah Flynn should have played.
