Maybe I worded that wrong, but to me it just seems like JR or RP would be better adept to "making a play" over Matt Flynn... but that is entirely speculation, i don't know, and I'm drunk, so I guess that would explain things... ha

Well... he does want to play...

But people forget that Vince Young will likely be gone, so if redshirted, Perrilloux starts 4 years at Texas...

He, despite what all the people may think, is just open to what the coaches want...

If they tell him, it is the best for him... I think he would accept it...

Ken Dorsey, Matt Mauck, Craig Krenzel, Jason White, Josh Hypul.....

None of them had fantastic overall football bodies but played smart.

That is the name of the game, imo

Jason White played really well in the most important games like the 2003 KState(Big 12 CC ) and LSU game(Nat Champ), not to mention the USC(Nat Champ) game last year...

Rs are great for some players, but I think the special talents should be on the field right away. JR or MF starts, the other is a backup.. RP (if he doesnt win the starting job) is a specialty play guy. You design 4 or 5 plays a game around him like Slash Stewart in Pittsburg during the 90's. If JR had not redshirted, who knows, maybe he would have beaten out Randall as the #2 in 03, and he would have been much better last year because of experience.

I would almost say that with everything I have heard and nothing that I know RP has no reason to play as a fifth year senior. Even with JR playing the rest of his career RP will get two full years on the field and then be starring millions of dollars at the next level and graduate to boot.

I don't see a need to play him for the sake of playing with the talent this team has this year. So if a shirt works out fine cause you never know but JR would have to stay healthy. JR goes down for a length of time RP will loose his shirt.

RP will get playing time in 06 and then have two years to lead the tigers IMO. Time will tell.
