Would like to see Ryan Redshirt but i dont think that is what he wants.

I dont think he needs mop up duty this year and i think JR is going to do fine. But just as we find out at running back with Alley going down it is nice to have options .

RP wants to win the Heisman in 2005 but just won't happen.

He wont bring anything that JR can bring next year so sit his ass

Don't be surprised. I was floored and I am a big Russell fan.

Perrilloux is getting as many reps as Russell right now. Russell has stepped it up because of this. Russell is playing "smart", making up for his lack of mobility by looking for ALL possible options and throwing the ball away, legally, if nothing is there. LSU's offense is moving the ball on a very, very good defense.

Ladies, Gents, we got us a heck of a quarterback, however wins out.

...and have your shared that opinion with RP? :thumb: :hihi:

I want our best QB out there on the field. And that QB has got to be able to do it all: Make the reads, make the throws, and know the terminology....

Any lack of one or more of those things come opening day, IMO, would benefit both RP AND LSU, if he redshirt.

I know RP wants to start--everyone does. I know he wants to be considered a Heisman candidate--that will come before all is said and done... But it doesn't help him to reach those goals he set for himself if he can't, without a doubt, know where he's going with the ball after making his reads and going thru his progressions.

Personally, I would rather an RP with a year of study under his belt, being able to throw 20-25 TD's to only 5 INT's instead of a RP that learns on the job and goes thru growing pains while throwing 15 TD's and 10 INT's...

My uncle sure wished that being a dentist was a definite shortcut to being an instant miliionaire, he's been doing it for 25 years and isn't one yet.

I sure hope they don't run it, we have planty enough guys with great legs to use for plays like that, if they use RP it should be for his arm.

I agree that he should red shirt. He'll be there if needed, but the Tigers right now have two capable qb's with some experience. But, even if he does red shirt, the odds of him stayin out his entire career is unlikely. If he's as good as advertised, he'll be gone maybe when the first oppurtunity comes.

That's one thing I will definitely agree on, we seem to have a good QB battle, but it is between 3 QB's not 2. And RP is not getting as many reps as JR and is not getting hardly any reps with the first unit right now. He eventually may, but not yet.

gisclair, dentist do make big bucks eventually, but 99% of the them go to work as an associate for another dentist, after all the years of dental school, and have to establish a good rep in the field they choose before moving out on their own or taking over the older dentist's business. My uncle actually made most of his dough when he sold his business to the younger guy, who was probably the 10th one that had worked with him.
