Shreveport Times LSU Notes: Coordinator responds to 'Third-and-Chavis' tag

LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis has a nickname that he does not exactly consider flattering. While Tennessee's defensive coordinator from 1995 through 2008, Chavis consistently fielded some of the best defenses in the Southeastern Conference. At times, though, his unit struggled on third downs, and he developed the monicker, "Third-and-Chavis."
