I really don't think there are that many good coaches out there. It will be interesting to see who they can find to replace him. Just heard this news on the radio.
Maybe you're right and you have inside info etc. (everyone on this board seems to think so anyway) However, I cannot see Stoops leaving Oklahoma for Alabama under any circumstances, that is my opinion no matter how wrong it is. Saban could possibly be a different story if he's really disenchanted with the pro game but I doubt he would give up after only two years. Once again my opinion and I won't hide from it if one of these guys is hired. I can admit when I'm wrong although I don't think I will have to this time.
Bama living in the past, living a pipe dream. What else is new. Face it Bama, you are not the school/job you once were. And even then it was EONS ago. In today's world of college football you rank somewhere between ole piss and south carolina. Talk about eating their own, thats what Bama is known for now. It doesnt matter who you get to coach there, you will NEVER return to the glory of the 60's and 70's.
I just don't see Spurrier going to Tuscaloosa. But Bama would have a really good shot at someone like Rich Rodriguez (West Virginia), Paul Johnson (Navy) or Jim Grober (Wake Forest). If they could pull Bob Petrino away from Louisville, that would be a real coup. But a couple of years ago LSU contacted him about coaching in Baton Rouge and he was not interested. If he was not interested in LSU considering the program Saban left behind, it is doubtful he would want to go to a struggling Alabama, but you never know. Certainly he would be the first one I would speak with if I were the Bama AD.
From what I heard LSU turned him down so he made up the story about being uninterested in coming to BR to save face with Louisville fans after having interviewed with another school.
:hihi: :hihi: Petrino was turned down by skip & co. because he was a tad unprofessional for a high profile gig. perfect for the gumps come to think of it. he or tubbs im hoping.
