I think you are wrong there. We did not WANT saban to leave, but we didn't think it was the end of the world either. I thought the Miami job was a step up, the money was great and I wished him well. The major disappointment when he left was that he lied to our fans, saying he was planning to stay at LSU, when we later found out that he was planning to leave. Believe me we discussed saban a lot on this board, and his positives outweighed his negatives. He lost some games he should have won, he wasn't perfect by any stretch. He had very good years followed by plain good years, but no real stinkers. But we had the annual drama of saban looking at the NFL. Now that he has failed in the NFL, ya'll shouldn't have to worry about it. We were not all immediately in the Miles camp, but he has grown on us. He has two consecutive finishes in the top 6, something saban did not do. And he has not blown a bowl game. Les is not a gifted speaker, but he's sincere and he seems like a solid citizen. He has earned our respect. He has recruited well, and been able to attract strong coordinators and assistant coaches. He's a winner in my book.

lets see... our coach held together his team and showed compassion in his deeds for not only his players, but for the people of louisiana before he ever coached a game at lsu. our coach volunteered and then went to iraq to visit with, and express his gratitude to, the troops there. i am sure others can pile on with examples, but yes, our coach is a very solid citizen. i wont hold it against him for showing a bit of passion and dropping the f word.
