Jim Donnan, on ESPN News recruiting day special said the 2 coaches he hated to see have the last shot at one of the guys he was recruiting were Paterno and Bowden, especially Bowden. So I would guess that Bowden tries to schedule the visits in a way that best takes advantage of that strength. Bring the recruits that are leaning heavily to FSU in first, the ones who are moderate leans to FSU in second and the fence sitters in last, and also save his in home visits with these undecided kids till the last week or so as well.
Bowden is NOT a great closer. It is known that Bowden hides MANY of his committments until signing day that way their secret committs can go on their trips to sway other kids......and then it comes all down on signing day and FSU gets media coverage.
