Been hearing the past couple of days that we might see a move internally very soon. I think we may see Gonzales get an audition and more control. Maybe even see Crowton outside the pressbox. Unless something amazing happens I do not see Crowton here next season.
That would be a reasonable midseason move by Miles. We're not gonna see any midseson firings on a 5-0 team heading into a rough stretch.
This would be great. We need to know whether or not Billy G is a capable replacement. Hiring from within is always better if you know it will work.
Please let this be true. Honestly, I know very little about Billy G's ability to call plays but he can't be any worse than Crowton has been.
Some still think Crowton isn't the problem. The nose dive our offense took after 2007, and the fact that it mirrors every other Crowton offense are just remarkable coincidences.
If it happens during the season I expect it to be a Billy/Miles working together with the offense and Gonzales getting more and more control depending on how he is doing. In a sense I would like BG in the pressbox because he is needed IMO but he is also a great motivator and coach on the sidelines. So kind of a catch 22 but we need more help in the pressbox than on the sideline. BG called redzone plays for UF so he has a little experience and he helped but the game plans together at UF and here at LSU during the week leading up to the games. I hope it goes down this way and I know there is some serious talk of taking control away from Crowton among the higher ups.
