The school got around 13 million for us playing in the game. What % is $100,000 of that?

LSU's take from the bowl game was split with the other 11 SEC schools . . . after expenses.

Okay guys. Let's chill out a bit. Miles is NOT going to Dallas. When he was hired he definately gave me the impression that he was happy coaching college ball and had no visions of the NFL dancing in his head. Nothing he has said or done since would lead me to believe he has changed his mind. This is not a good time for us to keep dredging up the Dallas rumor. It could affect recruiting, so let it die.

But we also got a cut of the National Championship game and from all the other bowls that SEC teams played in. Around 13 mill.

Regardless of how much LSU pulled in from the bowls, I am sure that the $100,000 bonus for winning a BCS bowl was part of his contract. To give him any more would probably have meant re-negotiating his contract and getting the Board of Supervisors to sign on. Skip cannot just hand him some extra money when he wants to. I am sure it is all contractual. I view of the fact his contract was recently re-negotiated, I doubt if there was any desire to do so again so soon, or any expectation on Miles' part that it would be done.

Not to mention the taxes, which leaves him with..what 65,000?? I'm not sure but probably a 40% bracket. Or is it tax sheltered?

I thought the payout was about $4.5 million since we were the 2nd BCS team from the conference.

I believe you're correct, but it's a moot point. After we win the MNC next year, CLM will be doing quite well!:geauxtige
