Anybody know what his 40 time is supposed to be? ESPN has him tagged as lacking speed for the receiver/returner position. Not that what they think really matters to the scouts, but that seems a little odd to me, even for them. These are the same guys that repeatedly over the last three years have said he was a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
Speed is not a problem for Skyler, but I worry about his durability in the NFL at his size. He'll be a 4th or 5th round pick, I suspect. According to Matt Hayes of The Sporting News: SKYLER GREEN LSU Size: 5-9, 190. Fastest 40 time: 4.33.
Well, smaller receivers like Donte' Hall, Deion Branch and Steve Smith are all Skyler's size. And though only two of those three have made much of an impact as a receiver, Skyler can look to Hall as a player to model his game after (i.e. become inexpendable because of your returning abilities and just wait for your opportunity to get playing time as a WR instead of a sole special teams ace).
You're right about that. The ankle injury that Skyler suffered through all last year can't be over-looked--but the silver lining is that it is the only injury he's really had.
skyler just ran a 4.50 at the combine on NFL network. haggans of ASU just ran a 4.45 - impressive for a so-called possession receiver.
