Acually he ran 4.39. After all 40's

Only Addai, Jackson, Moss, and Drew ran under 4.4

Lets not forget that at least as a returner, its not Skyler's ability to run straight that makes him dangerous although being fast doesn't hurt !

Actually he ran a 4.32, but a few scouts did have him at 4.29.

Let's also not forget that Skyler ran his 40 time without a fully recovered hamstring. We all know he can run faster than a 4.4/40. On top of that he did very well in the drills making two very difficult over the shoulder catches and blowing through the gaunlet dropping only one ball he should have caught and maing a good play on one that no one could have caught. He was one of the few to actually run the drill full speed as well.

Besides, neither Saban nor Belichick are going to let Skyler drop very far. They both need return guys and Saban needs another receiver.

Here are the official electronic times from the combine on all receivers so you can see where skyler stacks up. Word is he is still tight from the hamstring injury, but the scouts knew this and respect him for running anyway. Bonus points for him. But he is strictly being looked at as a special teams guy by most teams.

What's the chance Bennie Brazell catches on with a team as a free agent ?

He will get some camp invites for sure. Somebody will at least take a look at him with his speed and improvement catching the football.

I hope somebody sees enough in him to send him to Europe, he would have a good shot to show them if he can make it or not there.

Even if he doesn't (go to the NFL), you can almost surely bet that he'll turn pro in track. Either way, he's going to get paid to do something athletic.

I agree, but Bennie has said since he got to LSU he doesn't want to be known as a track guy that plays football, he wants to be known as a football guy that runs track. It is obvious he would rather play football, and I just hope he gets his shot.

I hope he gets a shot, too. I really like both LSU WR's in the draft (duh, right?) :hihi:

I wish New England would pick up one of them because with Troy Brown up in age and likely to not be around past next season (if he even makes it to next season in a Pats uniform) and with David Givens likely cashing in as a FA someplace else, there is some need at WR for New England...Problem is that the Pats receiving corps wasn't big or physical to begin with, so that might pretty much rule out both Green and Bennie ending up in NE... :(
