I'm so ready for baseball. There is a Coaches Committee meeting tomorrow night. And pre-season practice sessions are in full swing. Smoke is an excellent coach on and off the field. He is not going anywhere. I was in the dugout for the first game in Omaha and in the stands for the second. Making it to the CWS is an honor. We should treat it as such. We have a very talented group this year. It will just be a matter of putting the right group of guys on the field. Any of them can play their respective positions independently- but the key is to but nine guys on the field who play as one cohesive unit.
Thats a tough question, only eight teams make it to the CWS and with the Super Regional format you don't get there by being lucky. However LSU fans are use to seeing the LSU basball team do more than just get there. I was very disappointed by back to back 0-2 CWS trips but most teams would consider that a great run for their program. I'm not sold on Smoke yet and would love to see some CWS wins real real soon but talk of firing a coach after back to back trips to the CWS seems crazy to me.
Not this year. After four years of chasing foul balls and getting the umpires water- I have graduated and moved 4 hrs away.
I would hope that thinking of or wanting to fire one of the best coach's at LSU would not be considered. I can just see the heat when Coach Miles has his first loss..........the sky will fall.
