It wasn't really a tribute to the old sketches for the fans, IMO. The "Best of" shows are for that. The studio audience for SNL40 was 100% former SNL cast, crew, celebrity hosts, and NBC glitterati. They were all slapping each other on the back, lots of insider stuff. This was a tribute to the old SNL alumni from the old SNL alumni.

When you put it that way.

That Jeopardy skit was pretty good

Pretty much why I stayed away. You can't re-create genius. It was funny at that moment and maybe in repeats but these kind of celebration/honor shows never really go well and end up disappointing.

I read that Chevy Chase is a candidate to appear in the "Next Celebrity to Die Thread". Was it that bad?

I seriously didn't recognize him and I'm still not sure it was him. Wow

That just makes me sad. I love me some Chevy. Vacation is still one of the all-time great "stupid" movies.

    Andy Samberg

I always liked Jack Handy. Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri as cheerleaders, Jeopardy, Ferrell as Harry Carey, In the cage with Nick Cage, The Goth Show, and when Monyahan does Guy Fieri.
