Randy Mueller hired Loomis. Renee Benson, the daughter has never been involved with the team. Rita LeBlanc, the grand-daughter was in college when Loomis was hired and an intern when he was promoted to GM. It wasn't until after 2005 that she really began working for the Saints at all and it was in marketing.

Benson's illness wouldn't stop him from promoting someone to GM. He was promoted the same week Randy Mueller was fired. Benson did both.
