Apparently former Iraqi AF pilots have been teaching them.

It's mostly ISIS recruiting propaganda. They apparently possess three planes and have flown about five 10-minute flights according to reports. I doubt those planes survive another 48 hours. The Iraqi Air Force was incompetent and former Iraqi pilots are "training" ISIS pilots. Good luck with that, Abdul. The Navy fighter pilots are gung-ho to get an air-to-air kill before the bombers take out the planes.

As I was saying. ...some news reports are claiming the beheading wasn't shown because he refused to cooperate by reading a statement or maybe even fought back. I hope that's the case. I've been waiting for one of them to at least elbow the British coward in the nuts. If you know it's over anyway, at least get in a shot.

ISIS is ramping up the propaganda because they have been suffering setbacks in Syria, Kurdistan and Iraq. They are more media-savvy than most radical groups although they typically misread Western reactions which are quite different from the reaction of the locals in threatened countries.

The airstrikes have forced them back into guerrilla tactics and crippled their efforts to sell oil. They have been pressuring families to provide new recruits because the flow of extremists to Syria has been slowed by neighboring countries in the coalition. They have lost their big refinery and the Mosul dam. They have lost the element of surprise that worked for them at first when nobody expected them to mount military-style assaults. Airpower and economic attrition have robbed them of much ability and the attacks upon their logistics will continue to deplete them of ammunition, supplies and cash.

Is that what you call propaganda these days? Cutting off an American's head? Western reaction this morning....
"The U.S. government is conducting a review of how it responds when American citizens are taken hostage by overseas terrorists, including how the families of captives are kept informed, CNN learned Monday.

A top Pentagon official wrote in a letter to Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-California, that President Barack Obama had ordered a "comprehensive review of the U.S. Government policy on overseas terrorist-related hostage cases, with specific emphasis on examining family engagement, intelligence collection and diplomatic engagement policies."

When the world watches them sever the head of a female hostage, I don't suspect America will simply stand by or ignore.

But they have printed their own money, they control Kobani, and with more support coming from Pakistan's Taliban, they are a step closer to resources and funding for a dirty bomb at the least. Dempsey says the door to troops on the ground is still very much open.
"The Pentagon is considering sending U.S. troops to fight beside Iraqi soldiers as they take on more complex missions in the battle against Islamic State militants, according to Gen. Martin Dempsey, the nation's top military officer.

American ground troops may have to help Iraqi forces if they move to recapture critical areas, including Mosul, Iraq's second largest city, from the Sunni extremists, Dempsey told a congressional hearing Thursday."
