Exactly what I told my mom- who initially wanted to think Cos was innocent. She also thinks OJ was innocent so take that fwiw. The fact that he drugged these women is what makes it even harder for me to understand. Seems he could've gotten all the tail he wanted with his celebrity status. I think it really adds something to his state of mind. Maybe just getting whatever he wanted (in terms of the taco) or possibly modest and shy to unclothe in front of a conscious woman, something along those lines. Rape is not a sex act. It is assault with an unusual weapon. Sure, Cosby's celebrity status provided him all the willing groupies he wanted. But rape is a power trip, they get off on control and dominance.
The weapon isn't always attached to the perpetrator. Foreign objects are sometimes used. Yep. He might well have been impotent in his own marriage. Being able to completely control these women while publicly maintaining his wholesome image may have been what got him off.
Of course it has something to with sex--sexual humiliation. A woman once asked me "Why do men rape?". I pointed out that most men do not rape and that I never understood what motivated the ones that do. I mean, I don't even like passive women, much less one that is crying, resisting, and doesn't want to be there. What a boner killer. Rape may have sexual connotations, but the act is an assault, not making whoopee.
