Read the thread, I've already pointed out the things we can be doing . . . and are doing. The Russian economy is fragile and so are Russian internal politics. Putin miscalculated and will have to be shown that the Soviet Union does not exist anymore. Putin is desperate for more international respect and domestic power but this move will have the opposite effect.

Its obvious. Have you been reading my posts at all?

How? Nobody anticipated that Putin would be so foolish, including Ukraine who is more field attuned to Russian hegemony than anyone. What 'moves" do you think we should have taken when there was no crisis whatsoever?

Other nations are stepping up, if you read the news. But we are the leader of the Free World, didn't you know that? The G-7 has condemned Russia and suspended it next meeting in Russia. The European Union gave Russia a deadline to return troops to their barracks. The leaders of the UK, Germany and France have all warned Russia it faces repercussions for its military actions in Ukraine. Even China stands behind Ukrainian sovereignty.

The republicans are just having another knee-jerk criticism of everything that Obama does. Like the boy who cried wolf, they are less and less credible as time goes on.

But what you asked me was "but what should he be doing, threatening Russia with war?" and that had already been answered.

No its not. You made the claim about me..
Yet the Ukraine is just letting Russia send more and more troops.

I don't know about you, but do you think the U.S. would let Mexico just send troops over here without busting some ass?

OK, well Putin is obviously calling everyone's bluff. So what now?

    You are not speaking clearly.

Dude, you've got the situation reversed. Ukraine is not capable of resisting Russia. What would Mexico do if we invaded and occupied Yucatan to protect American tourists? Nothing, except complain and ask for help.

Watch and learn. Political and economic pressure is ramping up. International disrespect of Russia is growing. Russia has already conceded that Crimea is part of Ukraine. Putin is looking for a way out of this with as much face-saving as possible. He won't leave immediately with his tail between his legs, but in time he will have to pull the additional troops out and get back to his bases as before.

Well, you are the one who made a claim about me....

Conceded? Russia never claimed to have taken or wanted to take Crimea over. Putin kept his message clear.

Hmmmm......"After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next,” Palin claimed in 2008, during her vice-presidential bid alongside John McCain."

Maybe she had a better view from her house than we all thought, lol.

You betcha.....$1B in aid to the Ukraine. "The Obama administration announced a $1 billion energy subsidy package in Washington as Kerry was arriving in Kiev."
