Haven't been fishing much lately....did go yesterday but after only 6 specs the lightning ran me off.....bc with the moon cycle I've been doin a good bit of soft shelling. Have been several times the past week and a half or so and have been getting between 12 and 30 a night. Not the big numbers we used to get when I was a kid but still plenty worth goin. IMO a softshell is hands down the best thing in the water(or on land for that matter.)

When my dad and I used to shrimp he would get so excited when we found softshells while culling. For me it was finding a flounder.

How do you catch softshells? The only way I ever caught any was while shrimping.

Kinda like floundering. Wading in the water and harvesting them with a gig, by net or by hand.

Yea clean em and freeze em. Well the ones we don't eat right away. I touch them with the gig to see if they are soft then just grab em.
