One of the best (maybe only) movies about the Old Guard is called Gardens of Stone. James Earl Jones, James Caan, Angelica Houston. One of my favorite movie lines is James Earl Jones growling "Some days you eat the bear; some days the bear eats you."
After reading that....boy, do I feel like a wimp for getting mad when they play the interminably-long Whitney Houston rendition of the National Anthem before games.
