    Re: Some GREAT NEWS!!

usually i give the basketball team a fair chance before i completely fast forward to baseball... but i think it's time.

northernvatiger, i think the chances are as good as (if not better than) last season. we will have a pitching staff that has the potential to be the best at LSU -- and i mean from top-to-bottom. hanover and nola will be solid vets in the infield. look for dozar to be solid at 1B, if dean doesn't fit well there. matt gaudet should be solid, and JUCO x-fer kyle koneman should be great at 1B as well. surprised he wasn't drafted. gibbs behind the plate. jones, landry, mahtook in the OF.

    plus, trey watkins:

pitching, we can save for another thread... LSU is just that loaded.

offensively i think jones, landry, dean, mahtook, watkins (?) all have potential to but up big numbers.

speed on the bases with landry and watkins.

    oh, its time alright! :thumb:

pitching.... my, oh, my. my heart beats a bit faster just thinking about it.

i would also like to see cj develop more as a pitcher. i would love to see him play dual roles. really anxious to see how he is used.

i think jones' bat will be handy as well. you're right it's going to be interesting to see how he's utilized.
