Do you forget that there were other reasons for Coker's dismissal that are NOT present on Les Miles' team? Also, do you remember Coker's last game in the '05 season, and who most certainly brilliantly outcoached him...with a backup QB?? In every aspect of the game? Coker was fired in large part because of a lack of control over his players. I was in Miami at the time, (along with Coach Saban :lol, and I can tell you a lot had to do with that. The 6 losses the following year didn't help, but he was on the hot seat following the beat down in the Peach...and it was in large part to lack of control. - It's too easy to see the similarity though. My problem is that it's been said about Miles since before he ever had a bad season.
I don't see LSU being able to buyout CLM's contract at $14-15 million anytime soon. If they fire him after this season they have to payout 100% of the remaining contract which is for 4 more years. I am an LSU fan and am expecting a breakout season. I always hope for the best regardless of the head coach. To me, if you are hoping for LSU to do poorly to see a coaching change you really can't be a supporter of the team. Your best chance to see CLM find another job is probably if CRR has another bad year at UM and they come calling with the money to buyout CLM's contract. But who will LSU hire that will make you happy? No matter who they hire he won't be the right person for most of ya'll anyways.
Like I said...CLM will be the coach until his contract is completed...but I think he only has two more years...not four. (That doesn't mean I think he's def gone after that, because I don't. But he ain't gone after this season...)
The offensive productivity, but the turnover ratio was GREATLY improved. The record improved slightly, and the conference record by two games. But Miles made a major blunder in the OM game, and it was enough to put some over the edge.
I didn't think your were serious about that, and to be honest, unlike you, I could neither bet for nor against the Tigers. Oh, look. You italicized the second part of my screen name. Clever and original.
Secretly, yes. He put them over the edge publicly. That isn't something they will admit, and I don't mean it in a hostile way, but that is true. They were "withholding judgement", which is translated to waiting for a reason to come out. He gave it to them, so it's on him. Now it's on him to shut them up, although they will be the LAST to publicly acknowledge anything he does right if he does correct the wrongs.
I think he will stay as long as he is successful. And I hope he does. I believe he has more loyalty to LSU than some posters here.
I really don’t think that there is anything new we can say about Coach Miles history and the constant rehashing really can’t help LSU. I for one, and I urge all LSU fans, to simply “drop it”, at least for right now. There’s a lot going on now to be excited and positive about… >>> Recruiting which Miles is great at. >>> Last year, Mile’s coaching hire did a lot to correct the defense. This year, the new offensive coaching hires will also produce great improvement. >>> We’re six weeks away from the start of the season! Since we don’t have a “rent-a-win”, LSU will treat this game like a bowl game and win convincingly (toss out Penn St, the terrible field conditions completely neutralized LSU’s team speed). Geaux tigers…!!!
