It didn't take long for states to start passing abortion laws after appointing Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court. They know these laws will be shot down on appeal, but this will setup a Supreme Court showdown one day soon.

First up is South Dakota who just passed a law to ban all abortions except to save the mother's life.

    From Fox News:
Mississippi is in the process of doing the same thing.

    The battle is on...

The Mississippi version is slightly different, in that it also allows abortions in cases of rape and incest.

Regardless, I'll still be shocked if the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs Wade

If the law is upheld look for a spike in rape charges.

I hope they do overturn Roe v Wade. I think I'm one of the few young people out there that is against Abortion. I think it should be outlawed, unless it is for rape or incest...

[bleeding heart] I actually think it should not be outlawed for rape or incest, but the state and local government should help the community (read: church) with these kids. I think every kid has potential, and if given true help, doesn't have to end up some sort of basket case or criminal. Yeah, it's open for abuse, but so does the alternative. [/bleeding heart]
