Man, I know. Everything was all who's going to what game, what games are televised on GamePlan, how bad are we going to beat everybody, why is USC getting so much love and don't forget......Who's starting at QB ???? Have a slight guilty feeling trying to get pumped up about it. Let's hope for better days ahead.
I am looking forward to a diversion. I have been watching alot of coverage and i find myself very depressed and angry at the way things are going. I just want to see things moving in the right direction. Astrodome is a start but when i see the city under control and the basic needs of people being met then i can allow myself to think of football season again and relax knowing people are being cared for. I know that is within reach in the next 3 to 4 days and then and only then can i be concerned over football.
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about them playing. Sure a distraction could be a good thing, but this is different than like a 9/11 scenario or something where the initial devastation is over within a few days. I mean if everyone was out and all who were going to be saved had been evacuated, I think it would feel different than it does now. I mean there are thousands of people still stranded, still without food and water, and some of them are probably dying as I type this. I'm not saying that by playing a game the rescue effort will be hindered, but in some ways it just seems disrespectful to those that are still struggling for survival. Maybe I'm way off, but it just doesn't feel right. That being said, I just went to their website to see what they had to say, and the homepage says the game is at 12:00pm. I'm assuming that they mean 12:00am which is midnight, which would be 10:00pm in CA. I would have to assume that it wasn't played at 12:00pm (noon). I don't know if I'll end up watching or if I'll feel to guilty thinking about such things. I'm also curious to know what arrangements they'll make for playing home games this season, since it appears they won't be back in New Orleans for a minimum of several months. It looks like most if not all the home games this season will have to be played somewhere else. Any idea where it may be? I think Tiger Stadium would be a cool idea, although playing outdoors would be different for them. I feel a little guilty even thinking about that though to be honest. Football seems so meaningless right now.
that was pretty damned funny. on a similar note, its pretty sad when millions of dollars just dont motivate like they used to. :dis: :dis: of course they have the deuce and joe horn. always 100% effort....and a cell phone.
How in the world did UCF vs USC get the nod as the first game of the football season? Wasn't USC vs Va Tech the first game last year? Now that would be worth watching. Already 7-0 USC a little over 2 minutes into the game.
Hmmmm... dammit Sspurrier is a frickin genius coach, or UCF is ****... that was a VERY VERY VERY impressive opening drive... I wish we had him as coach... hahah , im KIDDING, but it was impressive
