Earlier this week in a press conference, a reporter asked the head coach of Southern Miss Larry Fedora what he thought about that?

    He said, "well, sorry".

That is kind of crazy, however. You're costing your own team about a $1 million I suppose.

The BCS bowl $$ should go to the team or program in the BCS bowl, not the conference they play in. Don't really understand that rule.

When you are in a conference, certain things are negotiated and agreed to. There is nothing stopping any conference from deciding that bowl teams keep all of the revenue, in other words.

If Houston wins and gets a massive payout from a BCS Bowl, the other schools in the conference will be taking checks gladly due to the share and share alike rule.

Of course, if Houston wins, and goes to a BCS Bowl, and can't fulfill its ticket obligations ala UConn a couple years back, they will bear the financial burden alone.

Sort of makes you wonder if Houston's giving less than a supreme effort, doesn't it?

most useless post of all time (and this reply is 2nd most useless of all time).

1st, do you really think houston fans wont travel 5 hours to new orleans for the sugar bowl? really? The reason sugar WILL pick them if they win is because they will bring more fans than most other BCS conference schools not from the region.

2nd, do you really think the coaches, players, etc give a fock......less than supreme effort? GTFO.

Do I really think the players care about the money more than the championship? Of course not. Why would they? But it's always amusing when the financial incentives are set up backwards.

It's just fun to wonder at a backwards system.
