Some, but there's a percentage that are real Christians, or at least have Christian ethics. So without knowing anything else there's a greater chance that if the Christian gets elected he will have ethics i like. Game theory decision making would point to the Christian as the optimum decision - between a self proclaimed Christian and an Athiest.
If Trump said he was the anti-Christ i wouldn't vote for him. If Biden proclaimed to be a Christian and Trump an Athiest i'd vote for Trump. I have tons of other info to factor in.
my ethical question here is how much lying and general skullduggery are we gonna accept to get what we want, if we believe what we want is the best for almost everyone. like lets imagine that pinochet had killed all those artists and socialists and intellectuals, and it turns out those fuckers he killed were really communists who were well-meanimng but didnt understand what you and i do about communism (that is does not venerate the worker but in practice is ALWAYS single party authoritariaism for th well connected that fucks everyone else). so lets say that pinochet kills al the communists, leaving only the chicago-school economists and it sets the economy of chile ablaze and turns it from bascially bolivia into singapore and prosperity for 100 years, drastically increasing quality oflife for everyone and their grandchildren. how ok would be to take power by force with lies and violence in that case? if you are saving a society from becoming cambodia under pol pot. i dunno.
