I don't think many immigrants from the ME have assimilated into American culture. For the most part it's black people who were born and grew up here who have for whatever reason decided that their religion would be Islam instead of the Baptist or Catholic faith they grew up in. They are still Americans in their culture but a different religion. How many of them broke the hearts of their mamas by rejecting the family religion.
plenty of middle easterners have assimilated fine. mikie mahtook is from a lebanese family. there is a very well behaved ME derived community in south louisiana. they need to be small in number. they need to grow up with american friends. they need to want to join the school team and fuck the cheerleaders, not go to mosque and learn nonsense with their muslim peers. (i should note i think a large number of the lebanese/syrians in south LA are christian so that kinda hurts my point but i mentionit anyways) people compare christ jackson to kaepernick. thats not fair.
