1. Actually. Twitter should be treated like every other private company and 230 should not have given them special protection.
  2. so if you post something illegal on twitter they should hold twitter responsible even thought it was you that posted it? seems unfair.
  3. If I do something illegal in Starbucks who currently goes to jail Martin?
  4. you, not starbucks. i hope the president doesnt move to hold starbucks responsible
  5. Right. He isn’t moving to hold twitter responsible for my tweets. Not sure why you keep saying that.
  6. If Twitter employs a third party to police content, yes, they are responsible the same way Starbucks would be responsible if they hired 3rd party security and said security started beating the shit out of customers.

  7. twitter is already responsible for what twitter says. they are not responsible for what you say. this equires no extra govt action. again, what the president is doing is convoluted nonsense that is just a dumb show for right wing kooks. you cant stop twitter from fact checking, thats their constitutional right to free speech
  8. its their right to metaphorically beat up all their customers. this analogy is stupid because we have free speech, we dont have free beatdowns.

    let me explain this again.

    when i publish a book, even an anthology of your writings, i am responsible for it. i published it.

    when i publish a website that allows you to publish your comments and tweets, i am not like the book publisher, i am a forum provider. even if i technically publish the website, the comments are yours. this is fine and makes sense.

    trump, being a dumb fuck, is doing some stupid bullshit that doesnt need to be done.

    also the argument that twitter is a monopoly that needs regulation is false and everyone making that argument is wrong.

    what the govt needs to do here is leave everyone alone and fuck off.

  9. If Twitter hired said 3rd party to conduct official business yes.
  10. No one is trying to stop them Martin. You are making irrational arguments. They are trying to have the FCC clarify 230 so that twitter cannot hide behind "platform" regulations when they are acting as a publisher.

    This is 2nd grade stuff.
