Conspiracy theorists about SEC officiating might be on to something - Matt Hayes - College Football - Sporting News On the question of conspiracy on getting Bama and Florida undefeated in the SEC CG: "Speculation," said LSU coach Les Miles, "is rampant." Enjoy your win Bama.
Re: Sporting News article comes down hard on SEC refs "Television replays clearly showed Peterson got not one, but both feet in bounds. I'm not exactly sure, but when CBS showed the replay booth, I could've sworn I saw the Three Wise Monkeys: see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil."
Re: Sporting News article comes down hard on SEC refs Said Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy: "It was one of those 'Oh, shoot!' moments. I guess sometimes you just get a break."
It's blatantly obvious that's what they want and it's a damn shame that a recent 2 time national championship winning school doesn't get more respect than that.
someone needs to forward a copy of this (along with the SI article) to the SEC offices. Make sure they're aware that the national media is hopping on the same train that coaches and fans have been on for a loooong time.
There is a difference this time than others though. Refs will make bad calls on full speed plays. It is when you give them the opportunity to slow time down and review it, and it is still wrong, that speculation comes into play.
everyone i was watching the game with kept saying "look, 2 feet in bounds." i said "yeah, but the game is in alabama...anything can happen." then, the call came. "play stands"...says the dumb, blind ref.
nah, phuck that!! i don't want any more respect or leeway than anyone else. call the game clean, regardless of who is in it.
But, now the refs have a dilemma...which team to cheat for in the sec cg? the greatest player of all time, tebow? or the greatest coach of all time, saban? I can't wait!!!
