Again, LSU vs. Florida has more tradition that LSU vs. Auburn. We have played Florida every year since 1971. We have only played Auburn every year since 1980. In total history, LSU has played Florida 54 times, but has only played Auburn 40 times.

Not saying LSU v. Auburn is our greatest rivalry, I'm just saying that the LSU v. Florida rivalry deserves a lot of credit.

I understand what you are saying. My point is that when you look at the entire realm of college ball, LSU/FL is not really what I consider a true rivalry. I was not comparing FL to the other teams that could be considered LSU's rivals. I was looking at the big picture, (like Bama/AU, Mich/tOSU, TX/OKLA, ARMY/NAVY).

I think that the LSU/Florida has a chance to become a true rivalry, especially since they have been basically alternating wins for the past couple of years and FSU struggling...The Florida/FSU rivalry has died a little bit and I think LSU has a chance to be Florida's next big rival.

P.S. Ugh-A/Florida can't be considered a big rivalry since Florida owns Ugh-A's azz.

I agree that LSU/FL is not going to make any lists for one of the greatest rivalries of all time (like Michigan/Ohio State, Texas/Oklahoma), but no LSU rivalry would make such a list.

If you consider a "true rivalry" only those rivalries that are among the greatest of all time, then LSU has NO true rivals. And yes, a lot of people do look at that way. I remember reading some post from someone on the internet claiming how lame LSU was for not having just one big historic rivalry game, but instead claiming everybody in the SEC as a rival. But to me, I pretty much consider just about everybody in the SEC a true rival, and I don't see anything lame about it. I think that's what makes the SEC the most exciting in college football. Imagine how boring it would be to be a Michigan or Ohio State fan, and only have one big game to get up for all season.

Living in central FLA....I promise you LSU/UF will never be as big as UF/FSU. I probably would think the same as many living in the heart of Tiger land regarding LSU/UF had I not relocated where I have....you have to experience the endless, year round, tiring talk between UF/FSU fan to truly understand.

Yes, but the Oklahoma v. Texas rivalry will never be as big as the Texas v. Texas A&M rivalry (to those who live in Texas), but that doesn't mean that Oklahoma v. Texas isn't a great rivalry (from a national perspective).

As for Florida v. Florida State, that's a great rivalry. But so is Florida v. Tennessee and Florida v. Georgia.
