Johnson & Finley played the first quarter. They both had some good throws, but only got a single FG. Finley also threw a pick. Brennan and the freshman in now. Both had a few good throws, but no points. Boutte looks great.
After the first half, Brennan is clearly the #1 QB. Everyone else is competing for the backup spot. If he keeps playing this way through the season, the offense will be in good hands.
I agree. He looks confident and in control. However the MVP is the grounds keeper. The field looks better than I ever remember!
This is true to some extent. It depends on how the game is structured. Brennan is leading the 1st team offense against the 2nd team defense and he’s the only QB to lead the team to multiple scoring drives. Johnson & Finley were going up against the 1st team defense and only had marginal success. In the second half they will switch to the 1st team offense.
Johnson is on fire now with 2nd team offense. He just threw two TDs to Kirklin in back to back drives.
