That intro sucked. They don't even play the good part of the song. What amused me when I went to Blacksburg for the first game was the turkey calls they would broadcast to get the crowd pumped. Nothing gayer than people standing and pumping their fists to "Gobble Gobble Gobble".
I went to the VT/Clempson game in Blacksburg last year. For 65K they get pretty loud. But its 65K. Tigah Stadium will be rockin with 92K plus (or whatever it is these days...) And another 30K outside cheering them on. C'mon boys lay it on em on Saturday. And I agree. The Gobble Gobble and their colors are just ridiculous
Ok, so I watched the VT opening and, well, with all due respect and trying really hard not to look at it through Purple and Gold tinted glasses, it sucks big time. A lame, edited version of "Enter Sandman" while everybody hops up and down like they've got to go to the bathroom right now just can't hold a candle to LSU! 's pre game in any respect. Where's the tradition? I mean, a recorded version of a song written in 1991 v. a live version of a song written in the 1930s by one of the most prominent figures in the history of the Golden Band from Tigerland. ( http://www.bands.lsu.edu/band_history/index.php ) No contest. Even if you're not an  fan, you have to appreciate the pagentry of pre-game. Sort of like the dotting the i at tOSU, just to name one.
What's with the hopping anyway? It kinda looks normal with a group of football players gettin hyped just before a game or a group of fans at a concert, but the VT thing just looked weird. Maybe if their mascot was a frog or kangaroo.... I dunno. What does TCU do at pregame?
