they need to put Perrilloux in 2nd one game. Flynn and Perrilloux basically just take reps. They never run any plays of any significance when they are in there. So who will benefit more from just simply taking snaps? Flynn or Perrilloux? I expect in probably the Tulane game for Perrilloux to play 2nd
for the reps. How does Flynn get better getting in and handing off the ball? Perrilloux can get better doing that, just for the experience
I think we need to get both reserve quarterbacks some playing time, even if it means putting Perrilloux in second some times. It's about what is best for LSU, not a pissing contest between the quarterbacks.
I thought maybe Alley was riding the pine after his fumble? I'm not sure we saw much of him after that. I don't think JR went too long, though. Yes, we were spanking Arizona, but he has to be sharp as a tack next week. If he sits too much, that might take away from his effectiveness.
1. Most 3rd string QB's never make it onto the field. Flynn has earned his playing position, you don't play RP second unless he has beat MF out for the position. And after watching several games yesterday, I'd say even if Flynn just hands off, it's important experience, it's not like he's played hundreds of plays in his career in live game situations. 2. RP would have seen more time if the defense would not have allowed that long drive in the 4th, I'm sure Miles was counting on our D to stop Zona after a few plays. 3. I'm glad JR played as long as he did, he still is learning as well.
JR is definately in need of as much play time as he can get. He is playing with a lot of maturity and poise, but when the defenses go from good to fan-freaking-tastic, how will he handle the pressure? He's done well in the past, but it's obvious to me that sometimes he can make poor decisions, especially on the roll-out pass. If he was better at reading that situation, it would really open our downfield passing, cause no one can beat Buster or Dwane in a post.
