What is best for LSU is having a precedent - that you don't put in third string guys before older more experienced second string just because they had more recruiting stars.

I've actually found JR to be especially dangerous when he's rolling out.

Dangerous for the other team. Most of his big plays come from him rolling out or at least moving in the pocket.

BTW, How about the tuck and runs he had last night? Very good decisions, and very productive.

JR has matured as a runner. He looked much more sure of foot last night. In fact, he should've run the ball in on the first drive, instead of tossing it to Hester, but perhaps he saw shades of going for it against Tennessee last year and thought better of it.

OK, maybe I'm just trying to find something wrong with him. Not to say I'd rather Flynn, but just to find some area for improvement.

One thing I've noticed is he sometimes, though rarely, stares down a reciever from the pocket- that's something that leads to an INT against Barn.

That's what I meant. I was responding to something someone said about him not doing so well on the rollout.

And yes, he has showed a great deal of improvement in the area of checking off recievers and even changing the play at the line. And his runs show that his decision-making has come a long way since last year.

That AIN'T THE REASON. You put him in so that LSU has three experienced quarterbacks. The linemen don't necessarily go in 1-2-3, nor do the receivers or running backs. The position coaches play them in special situations and to get them all some PT. Quarterback is no different.

High school rep and recruiting stars don't mean chit. We've got the kid and we need to play him for the sake of the Tigers readiness. Russell is proven and highly experienced. Flynn is proven. Perrilloux has been here a year, he paid his dues and now we need to prove him and get him into the mix.

For LSU, . . . not for Russell, Flynn, Perrilloux or their ego's.

I agree with red. We know that MF is game-ready. Why not get RP some valuable reps as early as possible? He's already used his redshirt. At this point in their careers, garbage time vs AZ or USL is a lot more valuable to RP than to MF.

QB is different. There's a fluidness to every other position & the depth chart. You can interchange them, you can pull them & put them back in without any problems. You can change the order without creating a media frenzy & controversy. You can't do that with QB. I agree that Perrilloux needs more snaps, but that doesn't mean he needs to go in second.

Flynn has payed his dues too, amigo.
