I think you are wrong about that. There is a definition of God...just like there is a definition of murder. You might not know if a murder took place but we know what the word means.
I am not really arguing that God exists at the moment. I am arguing that it is idiotic to accept some jackass scientist's opinion who is asinine enough to run around spouting off about the existence of God. He is out of his depth. Why is his opinion more important than the doctor's? Or the farmer's? Or the judge? It's stupid.....it is some sort of sickness of our era. It reminds me of actors stumping for politicians. That seems really stupid as well. I mean this sincerely, why the hell should I care that Stephan Hawking is atheist? I bet my life I can find plenty of Christian scientists. How about the barber shop? Are they atheist or not? Why should that impact my thinking about God?
The Trinity is a strange idea but I read somewhere that the same thing is evident with human beings. Body/mind/soul...Red has a body (Christ), a mind (Father), and soul (Spirit). But all of them are still Red. Anyway, that's my understanding. It's probably not 100 percent correct but you get the idea. Supposedly that what they mean when they say Man was made in God's image.
right, we know nothing about the existence of a higher power just like them. quit thinking you know anything about any god. no one knows shit. thats what we do know.
So what? It is a fact that our knowledge of the creation of the universe has made great leaps forward in recent years. It is a fact that Hawkings is among the people most knowledgeable about these kinds of physics. Are you kidding me? The sum of human knowledge has increased exponentially since Roman times. This is absurd. Neither were they far advanced in physics, astronomy, and quantum mechanics. I'm not sure what relevance this has to do with the issue. You seem to be discounting science once again, with something other than scientific reasoning.
I said what I said. If you don't understand the point its your loss. Hawkings may be the most brilliant scientist in the world but he is no more qualified to say that there is or isn't a God than the village idiot. Or the Pope or the lowliest parish priest. Hawkings may have a greater understanding of how the universe was created than anywone but he can't possibly know whether the force that created the universe were set into motion by an eternal lifeforce or not. He can speculate and postulate all he wants but on this subject his statements are no more than his opinion. His opinion on this matter is no more valid than yours or mine
You are totally missing his point. If there is a God He could have been the One who made the laws of physics and quantum mechanics there way they are. They could have been His tools to create the universe. You don't think H built all this with a screwdriver and a roll of duck tape do you?
The sum of human knowledge has increased regarding what? God? I highly doubt that came from scientists. Which experiment are you referring to? I must have missed it, please enlighten me! ;-) Just to be clear I don't have a problem with science or scientists. But they should stick to their subject. Since when does science include the study of immaterial things? Which gadget are they using to run these tests?
Some jackass scientist? I begin to doubt your seriousness. Denial of science is a poor way to argue scientific realities. The universe is not an abstract religious concept. It's a very real thing. Who cares? We are arguing the existence of God here. Make an argument if you have one. You have offered nothing except scorn for Hawkings and a bias against science.
