To make the case simple: I will completely concede my point if you can name me one single experiment where the scientist tested for the existence of God.
Hey, you are the one that started a thread about what Hawking's thinks! Obviously a lot of people agree with him. It's what we've been talking about. Thank you, Captain Obvious. Everybody agrees on that. We have been arguing our own opinions for about 32 pages now.
I am not arguing the existence of God here. I am arguing that Stephan Hawking is a fool. Regarding the universe, yes the universe is real. And material. God is not material. To assert that he is material would be so absurd that to my knowledge no human being has done so...
Apparently you don't. You are the one who said Hawkings was qualified to declare that there is no God.
Science certainly has disproved myths that were believed to be due to God. Weather, our centrality in the universe, etc...poor Galileo.
It has increased regarding the creation of the Universe. That is the context of Hawking's statement--that science has a better explanation of creation than a mythical supernatural being built it in 7 days. Physics and Astronomy does not study immaterial things. The scientific study of the creation of the universe has reveal many things, but no deities yet. That's a scientific fact. If Hawking's or anyone else chooses not to share your religious beliefs, you must accept this. He is as justified to say there is no God apparent to science as you are to say that God exists spiritually.
When exactly did I say this? What I said was that Hawking was qualified to discuss the creation of the universe.
