    I'm sorry that I'm saying Bama has lost much of its prestige, but that is my opinion. For 2/3 of my life and as long as I can remember Bama has just been a myth of something that was once great, so sorry but that just doesn't carry weight with teenagers from outside Tide Nation. This is a what have you done for me lately world. Prestige as defined by recent success and relevance is in my opinion the most important factor for a recruit, and I don't think Bama should be a king on that list.

    why is everyone avoiding the main reason why recruits go to ND?---the only catholic school with a decent football program. if they werent catholic theyd be... baylor. no tv, no $$$, etc.

    Peyton didn't go to LSU because he and Josh Booty were not going to go to the same school . . . and Booty signed with LSU.

    But do you think Peyton (or any Manning) would have ever really donned the purple and gold?

    Likely not, LSU was rough on Archie. They were Louisiana boys only because their dad played for the Saints and lives in Louisiana. It ain't an LSU family.
