Our secondary shouldn't be too crispy anymore. We got one of our injured DB's back. Saturday was his first game back since the Texas game. We pulled the redshirt off a stud DB and put him in the second half of the aTm. Our biggest problem, Eric Bassey, is now riding the pine.

Secondary shouldn't be a concern now or as big of a concern.

Special Teams, namely the placekicker, is having a rotten year. That is our biggest problem right now.

If you guys, Auburn, jump us and get to play in the Championship game then power to you. If that does indeed happen, I will be rooting for Auburn against USC.

I disagree with Stoops only pointing out the truth or anything of that nature, he's accusing ESPN of touting Auburn instead of OU because of the SEC's contract with ESPN. Auburn will only play in a handful of the ESPN games if that many, they will play on CBS a lot more so the analyst would be helping CBS ratings more than ESPN's. OU will probably play in most of ABC's Big 12 games with a lot more dollars at stake and I am sur ethe folks at ESPN's parent company would not look favorably on the ESPN idiot's purposely hurting ABC's ratings. He is a whiner, pure and simple, and is now trying to make it look like a conspiracy to keep OU out and put Auburn in. Lord knows that Saban had it right when he said no matter how you cut the mustard a deserving team will be left out if all 3 go unbeaten, but I can guarantee you he wouldn't be putting the blame on commentators.

I can't help laughing at all of this BS. Coaches are now having to lobby for the right to play for the championship. It's getting more ridiculous each week.

I hope we get more and more BCS chaos every week. I want multiple undefeated teams, a 3 way BCS tie, a split championship, and anything else that creates chaos.

Maybe, just maybe, somebody will wake up and see that this is not the right system....

Absolutely! I agree wholeheartedly, and I couldn't have siad it any better myself. I will add:

    1. Certain, if not most, coaches will complain, whine and lobby when their team is or is threatened to be left out of the mix and their record is just as good (Caroll, Stoops...). They will go to ridiculous lengths in doing so. I believe Stoops did just that in trying to lobby for more votes by bringing up ESPN's contract with the SEC.

    2. Nick Saban would take the high road and let the chips fall where they may. Last year, he said that he felt his team was just as deserving as any other, but that's as far as he went. That's fine. CNS is a class act, and we fans, and the LSU players are very fortunate to have him as coach.

    3. No one can say that USC was more deserving last year than OU. To say that OU was an "illigitimate" title contender last year is ludicrous! Like wise anyone who says that USC didn't get shafted last year because they didn't deserve to be there, for whatever reason, is just plain wrong!

    4. It's a stupid system! It's still a "beauty contest", to a great extent, as it always has been. Any time more than two teams finish with the best record, it will not work! And, that is going to be most years!

    5. I would rather have the ridiculous pre BCS system that we had - the system that resulted in split "mythical" national championships, and had teams like BYU finish at #1 in some years and had undefeated Penn State finishing OUT of first place. Speaking of which, he may not be able to coach a lick any more at his age (what is it, 102?), but JoePa is a class act just like CNS. Did you ever hear him complain, whine, lobby, or cry?

    6. I hope so much that each of the three top teams loses one of their last remaining games. The next best thing would be for all three to win out. BRING ON THE CONTROVERSY!!! If no team in the land goes undefeated (or, perhaps only Utah and Boise!), then who goes to the Orange Bowl???? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. That would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you on this. The same fans that are calling these comments classless are the same ones that were complaining about the bias towards USC over LSU last season.

Stoops comments may be a bit questionable but he is only echoing what most of the OU nation is feeling. Until we have some kind of playoff system, expect more of this.

There is a HUGE difference, though. It's one thing for the fans to spout such things. When a head coach does it, however, well the best I can say is that it is "unfortunate".

If Stoops says he thinks his team deserves to go after winning the Big 12 that's fine, but to throw out conspiracies as the reason is a joke.
